Formaldehyde’s health effects and safe amounts

Irritation of the eyes, throat, and nose, as well as coughing, headaches, and wheezing, are the first signs of formaldehyde exposure. Prolonged exposure may cause cancer. Some persons are more susceptible to formaldehyde than others, even when exposed to the same quantity of formaldehyde. Bronchitis and pneumonia are caused by inhaling formaldehyde gas.
